Arrival in Athens meet & great from our Escort and transfer to the Hotel
After the check-in free time to relax for a while and later on dinner at the Hotel’s Restaurant
Overnight at the Hotel

See Athens through the ages. In the beginning you may run a lap at the Panathinaikon Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held and then pass by the President’s Palace on foot guarded by the Evzones.
Continue to the city’s centre, Syntagma Sq. and see the House of the Parliament and the monument of the Unknown Soldier. The University avenue that follows is full of Neoclassic palaces and buildings, the fine house of Heinrich Schliemann, the impressive National Academy, the conservative State University of Athens and the very rich and symmetrical National Library. The Omonia Sq. is the city’s other great square, literally its pulse, with a combination of modern and neoclassical architecture. The closer you come to the Acropolis, the more the ancient monuments become: the fine Temple of Zeus with its Corinthian pillars and the Arch of the Emperor Hadrian.
Mastering all of the above, we visit the imposing Acropolis. The six million-year old(geological age) high point of ancient Athens was, for the first time, fortified in the Mycenaean’s times served in the past centuries of monarchy and as a sanctuary of the Greek goddess Athena. The marble monuments and temples built in the classical times remind us that the Acropolis is more than the living history of Greece: it is the western world’s prototype of aesthetic. Visit the Nike Wingless temple, the Erechtheion, the Propylea and the very impressive Parthenon & of course the Mars Hill where St. Paul talked to the Athenians. On the slope of the Acropolis is the new masterpiece of Athens the New Museum of the Acropolis.
In between the tour free time for shopping, coffee & after Lunch will be served in a restaurant in the old district area of Athens-Plaka.

The Tour will end at your Hotel early in the afternoon and at the night your Farwell dinner will be taken place in an impressive restaurant with a very nice overlooking view on continuing transfer to the Soho Area of Athens Gazi for clubbing and having fun!

DAY 3 – SUNDAY – Afternoon Tour to Cape Sounio with Lunch

This tour can take place either in the morning or in the afternoon (preferably). The group will leave the Hotel for a wonderful drive along the scenic coastal road -known as the Riviera of Attica-, which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. Cape Sounion known also as Cape Kolónes is a precipitous rocky headland rising 60m from the sea. On the highest point of the headland, are the columns of the ruined Temple of Poseidon with 6×13 exceptionally slender Doric columns, constructed of local marble with 16 flutings instead of the usual 20.
The Temple of Poseidon (which dates from the 5th Century BC), near the edge of the cliff forms a conspicuous landmark from the sea. An inscription confirmed the attribution to Poseidon. Another inscription simply has the name of Lord Byron – English poet and Philhellene – probably carved by him personally in the early 19th cent.
On stylistic ground Prof. Dins moor ascribes the design of the temple to the architect of the Hephaisteion of Athens, placing it circa 444 BC. From the temple of Poseidon guests can enjoy one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world (on a clear day one may see at least seven islands).
If the tour is taken in the afternoon, the sunset is a vision not to be missed!
An amazing sight!!
After the visit to the archaeological site the Group will take Lunch & afterwards transfer to the Airport to get their departure flight back home!
